Thank you for debunking the notion of Elvis as a hit theif, though, that’s very much appreciated. However, Elvis’s version of “Blue Suede Shoes” was not released before Carl Perkins’s: his single was Jan of 56, Elvis’s was March, and on his first RCA album (singles were what made charts). Elvis did perform the song in Feb of 56 on Television, which was so much higher profile at the time that people thought the song was Elvis’s.
